Question for all Raptor riders
I am looking to add a 660 Raptor to my fleet (My total fleet number is 1 right now). I like the 660 or 700, but the prices of the 660's are hard to beat right now. Anything I should look out for? As far as riding I have heard the 660's are top heavy. Anything anyone has to share, I thank you. I do mostly med. to tough trail riding. Very rocky, very steep but a ton of fun. Is this the right bike for this type of trails? I plan to do some sand trips i.e. Glamis, Pismo etc. also. I have been looking at yfz 450's also. What would be better, I am a bigger guy so I dont know if that has a lot to do with these two bikes.

Question for all Raptor riders
rancher,
well i hve a 2003 660r. i love it. i rode in the dunes(pismo!), dumont, and mountians. it handled great in all of those areas. i admit i am small guy (125 LBS). but my friends are bigger guys and they have the same thing and they are happy with there 660's. i heard that you want to be careful with models made in 2001 cause they had transmission issues. i never had any issues with my raptor being top heavy. the 450's well leave the raptor in a straight ways such as the pismo dunes or dumont dunes but in trail riding i have beat 450's.

Question for all Raptor riders
Sorry, bout the typ-o<< I hit the wrong Button!!!!!!!!!! I was saying I bought a 2005 660 and a 2005 Ex 400 at the same time,The 400 was for the wife. The 660 is a good Quad!!! and would work for you I am sure, they are big,and I found out they are Top heavy, but for the type of riding your doing I think it would work well. They got a ton of Low End power!!!! You can take off in Hi gear from 5mph and it will just PULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!all the way up!!! I rode it at Pismo&The Desert&all round. Not sure but I don't think a 450 will run with them,Stock for stock????IMHO I would stay away from the 700,to much Hi Tech stuff on them.I have sold mine and took a 2004Ex in on the trade, and I picked up a Banshee,to play with!!!!!!! That 660 will take You any-where you want to GO,fer-Sure!!!!Hope this help's Luck>>Latter.

What are you talking about the 700 is the machine that the 660 allways should of been! The 700 will out do anything a 660 will do and then some. I love it when people say the are to high tech but is it not that what you buy new for in the first place. Sorry for the rant but come on the 700 is an icon there still is realy no compition for it yet (except mabey a ktm525) but even those are overpriced and no EFI. I think you get more for you money out of a 700r. They can deff be built for more power than a 525.And dont even get me started on EFI that is the best invention a quad since the quad was invented if you have any missfeeling on this issue just check out Raptorforum.com for yourself and you will see witch one deserves its props!!!! Sorry if got off the topic at hand but I thought I would set everone strait on a 660 vs a 700.
If you can only afford a 660 it is a good machine but please don't think that you are getting something comparable to a 700!!!!
