Question for all Raptor riders

rancher, well i honestily do not knwo about the tranny issues. my friends brother worked as a sells man for yahamaa shop here and i said in 04 i plan to get a 660r. he said some of them had tranny issues but yamahaa corrected the problem. if the price is good, i would buy it. i agree the 700 is faster then the 660. as for the high tech ideas here, well i feel very comfortable with working on my carbs and compared to the EFI which i dont know much about. at the dunes i get get beat on the straights by 700s, but in trail ridding i am right there with them. and yes they do have alot on low end power. i always start out in secnd gear with plenty of power. and i think you will enjoy the 660.

I can see each sides view on the EFI VS. Carb issue. My Rancher is EFI, and I love it, the 400 ex that is broken right now (cause I am dumb) is carb and I love it too. The EFI is nice, but thats why I got the EXTENDED SERVICE for 5 years. Its give and take..........

Rancher, yea i heard alot of good things about EFI. i know a mechanic at the yamaha shop and he said the best thing you can do for an EFI is have an inline fuel filter and change it about once a year. he said the EFI can get plugged easy.

Wait till you have trouble with that turkey!!!!!!! and have to take it to the dealer and have it worked on,To much computer stuff on it for me!! Just-ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Man talk bout Touchy????BTW>> Dont get that 700 out there messing around with a Banshee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Cause they got's 2 Carb's on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!U have a good Day!!! Latter.</end quote></div>
so you're saying that because the fuel injector needs power, that means there is too much computer stuff. what trouble are you talking about? i'm not asking that to be sarcastic, i'm just curious. after a controller or power commander is installed (20 min. job), tuning an efi is a million times easier than tuning a carb.
