Default small blaster problem

ok this just started happening about 2 days ago,but first it wont start without the choke on unless it gets really really warm, but usually it starts up 2nd kick in warm weather with no choke. 2, i was riding on the street and it 3rd gear it just shut off while riding so since i was moving i tries jump starting it like 3 times and the engine kicked in for a second each time. Then i pulled over and started walking the atv, kicked it and it still wouldnt start so i pulled the choke and it started, and the engine was def hot enough to start in 1 hit., i cleaned out the air filter and that is fine and , i just cleaned the spark plug a bit with sandpaper and it still seems to occur, does any body know what the problem can be. also sometimes i can ride for a long and it will run fine, it just randomly shuts off while moving.

it sounds as if the top end needs a rebuild. check your compression. and if its not at least 140psi then rebuild ASAP before it blows and cause cylinder damage. if you don't wanna go to the extent of rebuilding then it is possible your rings are bad instead of your piston being shot. so check your compression and let us know.

i can't go that far, i never touched the engine, i only put gas, oil , changed the spark plug and air filter,i dont even know how to check my compression but if some one lets me know it will be great, and is it complicated rebuilding the top end, and could it be another small part like, maby using a differn't model spark plug. Also what causes thhe top end to become damaged?

usually the top end on a 2 stroke will wear out. OR someone ran straight raw gas or you have a too lean of a mixture. the tope end on a 2 stroke is usually pretty cheap if all your doing is changing the piston. the compression is simple really. go to the autoparts store. ask for a compression guage (around $25) get it take out your spark plug and the uage screws in right there. kick your bike a couple of times and the psi should be read 140-160 if its less then it needs a rebuild. sound simple enough or do you want more detail???

sounds good, last time i checked it had 2 stroke oil, at least half way filled, just recently filled it with gas so im pretty sure it wore out. it is pretty new its a 05 or 06 i can't remember, but how long does it usually take to wear out, we had it prob almost for a year, but we got it used. Also i ride it about 25 min a week maby, but not in the winter. could it poss be a bad spark, i used sand paper on the bottom to remove the black, but i remember autozone gave us the wrong spark although they are very simular and has been working great untill now,

the spark plug should be B8ES. on a 2 stroke it usally depends on how hard you ride. but really dude i wouldn't try to ride it or it just wears down naturaly over time... until you get the compression done. the reason why i say that is because if the motor is going bad then it could possibly blow and screw up your cylinder causing you to buy more than you needed to. If the compression checks out OK then its a different problem.
