Whats new on the 2009 YFZ i cant see anythng different other then the lame white plastics.. why the h3ll didnt they do Fuel injction or a AL frame? of hell why not a 6 speed trans.. bad choice to not change anything in my opinion even though they are still fast but why keep things the same. The yfz would have ripped with efi?!

If I had to guess, they're working on something that's going to take years to develop, and when it comes out will be on top with out question... (kinda like they were when they first released the yfz)
Right now it's still a middle of the pack quad, and has owned GNCC under Bill Ballance for the last 8 years...

The price went up $300. There's your big difference...
I'm not sure if your racer types that tend to buy YFZ450s would like to have EFI on them either. Carbs are really not that hard to tune. EFI adds a level of complexity I know at least a few people wouldn't like to have... I'm not making excuses for Yamaha, but maybe they analyzed it the same way KTM did and came to the conclusion that EFI isn't necessary on this kind of model...

i know what you mean. but efi can be tuned perfect. ive will not buy an atv without efi again myself. what i also like about efi is if your not tuned right you dont have to take out and put in a bunch of different jet kits till you find the right 1. it is so much easyier to unplug the pc3 and retune it than put a new set of jets in.
