Default frame paint

The best (and most time consuming) way is to strip it down to the frame and then media blast the frame. I did that a few years ago with an older model YZ250. I found some factory matched frame paint (Yamaha Purple - used PJ1 Frame Paint), took my time and it turned out pretty well. If I had to do it today, I would powder coat instead of paint. I think it's a little more durable and better looking.

It takes a long time to tear everything down and then reassemble. Powder coating and painting bare metal is relatively inexpensive compared to having a shop do the teardown also.
