I had the chance to spend the day riding the Griz 550 a couple of days ago - and all I can say is Yamaha has made a great machine, and it should sell well. I personally am glad they put it into the 700 chassis - I feel that is one of the best chassis there is - never once did I feel I didn't have enough power for the weight of the machine! The EPS is awesome - and I doubt I'd ever own one without it. Not everyone needs the power of the 700, and the 550 has some great low end - very smooth, manageable power delivery and excellent handling due to shocks that have been set up specifically for the lesser powered 550 motor. Engine braking is great, the CVT can't be beat.......I think it's a good call on Yamaha's part. Just my humble .02!
