All you have too do is pull the side cover & remove "E"-CLIP, PLASTIC GEAR & ROLL PIN.
Reinstall cover, oil injector, remove hoses, tank & plug carb port, where the little hose
was installed.Install injector cover. Oil injector is still there, but, inoperable due to removing
plastic gear. Oil injection delete kit is not needed. Presto, you save $32.00, by not buying the
kit & the same quality job is done.

 

Why can't you just disconnect the oil line from the carb, plug it and zip tie it up? That way you can leave the tank and everything else on and maybe when you decide to sell it you can simply plug it back in?

Also, I don't have a nylon gear on mine. It is a metal gear in the pump and a metal gear coming out of the ATV. However, when I quickly pulled the line off from the carb once when it was running, the line was dry. It didn't seem like the pump was working so I plugged it.

 

On the inside of the engine crank case cover(aka clutch cover), on the other end
of the oil inj. shaft is the plastic gear. If you do not remove, oil injector will eventually lock up & shear the plastic gear. Nylon particles will be flowing thru
your clutches,gears,bearings etc. Not good.

 

Oh I was looking under the cover where the pump sits. But if you leave the pump hooked up and plug the line going to the carb won't the gear still be getting lubed?

 

The only way to do that is too run the carb hose(small hose) back to the tank>
If you just plug it , where is the oil that the oil injector is pumping going to go?
If you don't want to remove the whole O I system, run the small hose, back to
the tank.
