in the long run tho' what is the best bike for maintinence n service

my freind just bght a ltr 450 and is pushing me towards that but i still like the yfz cause it seems a good runner and good all-round so tospeak

Go to a dealer and sit on them. It's free, and you'll know before you lay down the cash what fits you the best.

It's not always the quad that makes the best rider. And if the quad fits you, not the other way around, you'll be a better rider.

Todays top riders aren't there necessarily because of the brand they ride, but the brand they ride fits their style. If it were just one brand being better than the rest, there'd only be one brand.

 

i have an 2004 TRX 450R and I have never had any problems with it. if your not racing and your trail riding the LTR wouldnt be a good choice because of how much lower and wider it is. The Honda is the cheapest on the market and you can really modify it for the price difference between it and the KTM.
Personally i would go for the Honda or the Yamaha. They're also the two fastest 450's available

 

I have heard from a very experienced atv mechanic and racer around here that the YFZ is the least maintaince! idk though i figure they are all the about the same

 

i like the way the ltr450s ride but ive herd that they have some big problems. ive herd the tranny in them is bad and the top end is always ready to go also. also ive herd you cannot change the piston out with 1 person. it take 2 min of the ltr. the honda 450r is prefered by a lot of racers beacuase they are so easy to work on. the yfz450 is right behind the 450r. the kawi is nice but imo is lacking power.

i was up at a place called kypeside today n sat on a lot of quads n i still prefer the yfz even though the ltr is wider in stock

is there any particullar yfz year thats is betta than the rest? whats the best price uv had for a stock yfz or a yfz with widened axils

I just bought a KTM yesterday lol! It seems to be on top of the yfz in every aspect.. (handling, acceleration, speed, comfortable, etc) but then again I only rode it for a couple of hours so my opinion isn't worth much... I'll give you an update...
