Default One sucks/One blows!

Here's a quick rundown of what we are working with. 92 Banshee and an 03 Banshee. We are heading to sandfest today! so any fast input would be greatly appreciated. Both bikes are stock except for pipes and filters. To start, the bikes both ran fine. We powerwashed both bikes, cleaned air filters, pulled carbs off, soaked and cleaned with carb cleaner. Put both bikes back together, now the 92 is only running off the left side and the 03 is only running off the right side. If you put a peice of paper to the exhaust, the side that is not running is sucking air in. Between the two bikes we have swapped every cinerio of carbs back and forth. We've taken compression tests...both test good. Changed the spark plugs multiple times. Pulled carbs, tore apart and checked multiple times. Switched spark plug wires. Switched reeds from one bike to the other...did not make any difference. On the carb from the side that is not firing, we turned the fuel air mixture screw all the way in, didn't make the bike run any different. Pulled the reeds on both machines....they looked fine. Put a new set of intake boots between the carb and reeds...that didn't help. Wondering if powerwashing it got something wet....its funny both bikes ran fine until we cleaned them up....now they both are experiencing the same problem. Could it be something simple that we are overlooking?

It sounds like the timing is off. I really don't know much about the Banshee but it sounds electrical in nature.

You pretty much answered your own question, they ran bad after powerwashing, more then likely, you forced water inside an electrical connection, pull apart all connectors, like cdi, regulator, coils, and blow them out with an air gun, or electrical contact cleaner (NOT brake cleaner or carb cleaner, wrecks plastic ) and put a small dab of dielectric grease inside each one. then give it a try. Keep us informed on how it goes.

on my 03...Hubby just cleaned all of the electical **** and it runs better. Its still getting too much fuel.......k, pulled pilot jets and cleaned them....now its running like a banshee! from my experience, that either means that she is fixed or getting ready to blow!...We'll find out at Sandfest! Thanks so much for your help! (still working on the 92...some metal shavings coming out of the pipes...that cant be good)
