my turn to provide my $0.02
TLC is correct, the 550 w/EPS is MRPS'd for only $800 less than the 700 with EPS. So if I were in the market for a new machine... I'd stick with the 550 over the 700... I'd rather put the $800 difference in price to goodies.. tires / winch / skids .... etc.. unless of course I was buying a left over and could get a steller deal... Some people don't have that extra $800 when they buy the machines.. Besides all of the reviews I have read, like HeftyLefty says.. unless you are slapping 27's and doing SERIOUS mudding / hauling a$$ around.. you aren't going to miss those 13hp...
IMHO... There is a reason Yamaha hasn't gotten into the Twin-Cylinder Big-Bore ATV battle I feel they realize it is a testosterone thing.... Who really needs a 951cc Thundercat that cost $11,199 and weighs 716 lb? Or a 784 lb Polaris 850 .. I mean come on.. that thing weighs 184 lbs more than the Grizzly 550/700! ok.... Sorry I got side tracked

--- Specificially the paragraph starting with "Powering the Grizzly 550 is a 558cc"
So for a Mid-Engined size quad the Grizzly 550 is probably on the top of the Heap! EPS, higher snorkles, 4 wheel disc brakes, lighter (as compared to Popo's and A/C's), the Grizz 700 was also a brand new chassis design, so lower center of gravity as well.
Physical size quad the Grizzly 350/450 (Autos) and Big bear IRS (with 5-speed) are more consider Mid-size ATV's

Thanks HeftyLefty!!
Please let me know of any issues I should be concerned about with my Grizz400 4x4. So far, 20 miles worth, I absolutely adore this machine. Albeit the first quad I've ever owned. My sole purpose is to use it for hunting here in Florida; to and from tree stand, hauling feed back and forth to feeders, intend to pull a disk plow to cultivate a small field, acre or 2. The land is pretty flat but it sure is nice to go off the trails, into the plamettos and scrub to pull a hog out. Archery starts this Saturday so I hope to have my first deer accross the front/rear rack. Deer are relatively small here, <150lbs.

700 without eps cost less than the 550 with eps......
and the specs are identical between the two aside from displacement....
id go for the 700 without EPS being that i can still muscle any quad to the left or right without poppin a baloon.
