HELP!! 98 blaster will not shift

blaster will not shift. Sometimes i can get it into 1st . Were should i start?

It isn't a real common problem but it does happen some, and that is the shifter shaft gets bent or broke. It usually breaks on the clutch side were the little hook is. This is the first place I would start.

HELP!! 98 blaster will not shift

ive also seen people wear out the shaft that the gear shifter is connected to. the teeth get worn out if the shifter was not on tight.
