You will be very happy with your purchase I know mine has been the best money I have ever spent on a quad!

 

i would get the 700 but as far as then just dusting yfz450 and trx450 when modded i dont know about that. those little efffers can be fast when bored and on alky but yes for your avarage mods the raptor will be faster.

 

JFYI you rarly see a 450 in sand drags all the big boys have is DS 660's and 700R's for a reason! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

i guess tell that to mmad and racers edge. but of course u see what im riding but some of those guys that have a yfz450 or trx450 that wieghs like 250lb running a 500+cc 450 on alky that revs to 10500 rpms kicks my butt a lot i hate to say.

 

My dad has the Raptor 700 and with the few mods my LTR has I put him in the dust. Especially on a track. BUT stock to stock the 700 will take it hands down in a drag.

 

ltr are ok. not to accepting of mods past pipe and intake. super hard to work on imo. raptors start to leave the ltr once u go past a pipe.

 

I am going to guess you want to race MX since just about any organization sanctioning xc or drags would have a class for the 700. For jumping and mx type racing, a 450 is hands down best. They are lighter and have a lower center of gravity than the 700. With equal riders, the Rappy may keep up for a few laps, but doubtful over an entire moto. I know quite a few 700 owners, and for jumping/mx riding they all agree a 450 would have been a much better purchase. Either way, enjoy what you ride as they are all great machines.
