Timing advance
#2
Your bike will run rich..but it seemed to give it a little pep. It was kinda good because it richened up the bike when I put the slip-on on. If you go to that one site for vinnies or vito(the guy with the special pistons) web site(trying to remember) under Project banshee it'll show you a Dyno of a modded 'shee with and without a 4 degree advance there was a 2hp increase. Sparks key is 7 degrees

Timing works (basically) like this, if it is set at 5 degrees advance, then your motor will reach its peak operating efficiency (POE) at 3000rpm, if you advance it to 8 then your poe will be at 4500rpm. The problem with this is that if you set it to high, then your motor will either idle poorly or not idle at all. After the motor has reached its POE it will start to decline in effiency and thus eventually "top out" Increasing your timing will give you over rev too. which isnt always a good thing if your motor isnt set up to handle it. I had though of putting one of those flywheel degree advancers on my bike, but decided against it because of the fact that the CDI on your bike electronically advances your ignition, and i dont know what would happen if you mechanically changed it.
