New 2007 Grizzly 450 Auto. 4x4 IRS
Hello everyone, I just bought a new (off showroom floor) Yamaha Grizzly 450 Auto. 4x4 with IRS, in Realtree Camo.
In comparing this 2007 to the new 2009 it seems that the things new for 2009 are: Front-end styling, Relocated DC outlet, and Extra plush seat.
Also after I did some checking is shows that the 2007 has Solid rear disc brakes and the 2009 has Sealed rear wet brake. I don't know if this is a plus or minus.
Also the 2007 states liquid cooled with fan, but I don't see a fan mention for the 2009 (I'm sure it must have one) just not stated.
Now I wanted a new atv and the bike shop said they did not know when they would get the 2009's in so I bought the New 07 model and was just wondering if it was an ok deal.
I paid $5,999 for the bike with the $69 Warn winch deal. Was this OK???
And also any thoughts on the brakes between the two bikes..
Thanks all, bayou50

Welcome to the Forums!
Yea, not too bad of a price... Also in 2008 Yamaha added a factory 2" receiver hitch to the machine. As far as the "squeaky" rear brakes -- the OEM pads are kinda crappy... since replacing mine with the EBC's I haven't had the "squeak"
I have the same quad -- I love it.. I have had a few hiccups with it... (all fixed under warranty -- gotta love a 2 year Warranty!).. I have 1060 miles on it ( About 600 or so of it on rough - rocky terrain). Machine has held up well for sure!
Even though your machine is new... I would take a wrench to all the bolts you can get too... I would remove all of the bolts on the Belt-drive case and put Anti-seize compound on them... as the bolts are steel... and the case is aluminum... and steel bolts and aluminum don't play well together when the bolts get wet...
Also here is a link w/instructions on how to download a copy of the 03-06 Kodiak 450 manual... same as our Grizzly 450's.
Manual
http://www.savefile.com/files/74511
The link for the manual works but sometimes you just need to work it a bit...
1. Click the link in the Message
2. Scroll down to the Section in the BLUE Box that says "05-06 Kodiak 450" and Click "DOWNLOAD FILE"
3. Your download SHOULD start...
IF NOT
4. Scroll down to the Bottom.... where you will see
" Your download should begin shortly.
If it does not, try <u>Download file now</u> "
That should do the trick

Hey Steve, thanks a million for the info. Yea I forgot about the 2" receiver add for 09. Good info on the brakes too, I'll change to EBC's when the time comes, btw is it hard to change the front and rear brakes on these bikes Steve? Again Thanks..</end quote></div>
Easy to replace.... 2 hours max... and that is taking your time....
