The 74 mph top speed would be ok for a stock Raptor, most of them go from 74-76 from what i have seen.I think your jetting is worng, but most likely it is the GPS.And the spedo in your ford truck is most likely off by 5 mph anyhow.Take it to the track and run it down the quarter mile, if it is only running 74 there something is worng.

ive gotten 75-78 stock, GPSIII, No BS, but I was going wide open on the highway down MT Magazine.
If any of you street bike guys havent ridden over Mt Magazine you should. Lots of people come from nearby states to fly up and down it, and its not visited very often by law enforcement. Nice hwy, nice view, crazy corners, and good straights.
I ride my raptor and other quads on the hwy up it to get to the trails faster and have tons of fun and never met a cop, (i couldnt outrun).
Disclaimer:
Speeding is BAD Ok,
Always Wear your helmet,
Do Not ride an ATV on a paved or public road,
If pursued by a cop, promptly pull over.
PS take the lid off the airbox with the big gun and try again.

Give your bike a few mods doesn't always mean more top speed. If your looking for some top end speed then take the mods which give more power and go up 1 tooth on the counter shaft sprocket. I would advise this anyways b/c the raptor has SO much low end that it needs to pull a tooth higher sprocket.

Maybe we should all just agree to disagree. Afterall, I've been told the jetting is wrong, but the plug looks perfect and it runs perfect. I've been told the GPS unit is no good, but it tracks within a couple 1/10ths of 1 mph to two brand new vehicles. I've been told the speedometer in my new truck is off by 5 mph, but it's dead on with the radar from the friendly TX Troopers. And, I've been told that the stock speed of a Raptor is 75-76 mph, but Dirt Wheels Magazine (December 2000) radared it at 71.0 mph.
So, in conclusion...my jetting is screwed up, the GPS is no good, our 2 brand new vehicles speedometers are off - EQUALLY and, the TX Highway Patrol and Dirt Wheels Magazine are using inaccurate radars. All that and it still runs 74.1 mph - NOT BAD!
