What mods Should i do to my yamaha blaster??? help plz
I have a 2005 all stock yamaha blaster. me and my friend go riding and he has a 2005 raptor 350. the blaster keeps up just fine.. i actaully accelerate alot faster then him. but he will slowly pass me on the long run. i was just wondering what mods i can do to smoke him.. please give me a list of aftermarket parts. i would also like to have enough power to beat 400 ex or 300 ex. ive heard that 240 blasters blow past 300 ex with 240kit. ive just heard with the kit it will blow the engine in like a month.. i would also liek to get a wider kit for my blaster. so i do not grow out of it so fast. ya i have 3000 dollers saved from my divident. please give a list of aftermarket parts for speed and power. Thank you.

I would keep it stock and keep the $3000. Sell the Blaster when you outgrow it and get something faster. My buddy had a Blaster with Toomey B1 pipe, jet kit, Toomey filter, Vito's read spacer, Vito's timing degree key, 20" rear tires and geared for higher top speed, and shaved head, and he still could not beat a stock Warrior on top end.

you will love the mods for a month, and then race some 450 and get blown away, and try selling that thing with all those mods, wont happen, just sell ti as a nice stock blaster, get like 1500 from it, use ur 3K and the 1.5K and buy a 450 or raptor

You'll regret it later but here goes: Toomey B1 pipe kit with filter & jet ($360), Vito's reed spacer ($60), Vito's timing degree key ($20), better reeds (like Boyesen or Vito's)($60), shave the head down about .030"($40), get the Vito's 240 kit($?), and get it ported($200). You could always get a stroker but then you start really losing reliability for trail riding. All the mods listed above should keep it fairly reliable if they are installed correctly and you take care of it. The 240 kit will not blow up in a week if it is installed properly, you mix your fuel/oil correctly, and don't over-rev the engine for long periods.
With these mods you may be even with a stock 400EX if you're lucky. My buddy had half of these mods on his Blaster and he still could not beat a stock Warrior. But he didn't have the 2 most powerful mods - the 240 kit and the port work. Don't expect to "smoke" or "blow past" anybody with a Blaster.

yep, and as for getting it a little wider, save your money with axle and a-arms with a blaster just get some spacers and youll be fine, i deff agree with raptor450 the porting and the 240 kit is the biggest bang for the blasters if you get that right combined with some other stuff the blasters really wake up, hey if you like go on ebay and buy a yz490 blaster lol its like 2200 i think right now i just saw it, that will prolly smoke everything you put it up against.but you need to really think hard about spending that money, so many people regret doing mods like that to older outdated bikes just like me for instance, 3000 can get you a banshee, 400ex, raptor660, maybe z400 and predator 500, and if your lucky possibly a 450, theres so many possibilities that you need to think over.
