Is +5 inches too long of an axle for the Raptor
#1
I checked with my local dealer today about getting a new axle for my Raptor. First we found out that Lonestar doesn't make anything wider than +3", on the Eliminator axle. Then, we found out that an axle off of a Banshee is the same as a Raptor. Then we talked to White Bros. about a Durablue axle. They had one that was adjustable to +5". Actually, they said it was a stock Banshee axle with +3". I ordered the Durablue. Do you think +5" will be too wide for the Raptor? I do a little of everything as far as riding. The DB is adjustable, which is good. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I think the axle you are talking about is the X-33.I have the eliminator on my Raptor and i think that is the one that is the same width as the banshee. A friend of mine has the X-33 on his Raptor and it looks fine, he has +2 A-arms in the front, but even before he put them on it looked ok. The Raptor needs wider a-arms anyhow so dont sweat it. I wish i had gotten that axle instead of the eliminator

Bartman, I have a lonestar axcalliber ant it adjust from +2 or +4 so it does go wider than plus 3 and yes I this +5 would be too wide unless you ride dunes or mx any xc or woods riding and you'll be hitting everything I am currently running my lonestar at +2 and its perfect and the front is good stock. My buddies 400ex is in my garauge and now my raptor is the same width as his the front is the same stock and the rear is the same with a +2 axle on it all those magazines are wrong when they say the front is narrower because we measured it and its the same as the 400ex. I have axis shock coming soon witch is suppose to lower the seat/ride height 1.5 inches and then the thing should feel real stable. I would go with lonestar there axcalliber axle is once again +2or+4 and there warrenty is good, as far as durablue I've heard of people bending and breaking them and durablue only replaces the axle 1 time hows that for a lifetime warrenty!
