Hello all,
I have a problem with my 87 warrior. I bought it used about a year ago and have gone over the top end and carb. Also put in a new stator in and some other little stuff. I bought it with a DG "straight piped" exhaust and i am having issues with quick throttle responce. I rebuild the carb with the correct jets and whenever i go to punch the throttle the quad bogs down and dies. I know its running way too rich and no matter what adjustments i do it still runs extemely rich (enough to shoot about 6" of flame out the exhaust). I checked timing and its right on, im starting to give up sadly... Also when i slowly get on the the throttle i have no issues, but the quad seems quite slugish compared to my 250x.
Wondering you guys ran into a similar problem before.
Thanks

make sure your accelerator pump is working good and is not getting stuck on the rubber boot, also if you havent done so already replace the plunger spring with a clicking pen's spring and they will work alot better the oem spring doesnt have enough tension and wont always work, maybe you need to lean the needle, the warrior carbs are a real pain to dial in
