I have been looking at a 2001 balster for a while, but it seemed small to me, to small to be fast. I rode my friend's 2000 blaster yesterday and was rather suprised at the fact i actually liked it (minus the fact that he had after market bars on it that were to low and hit my legs when i turned.) man did that little sucker go. it as way faster than the big rancher i am used to riding. The only concern i have with it is that fact that that it is a 2 cycle. I have owned them before and never had a problem with them, but i have also heard horror stories about them being like a time bomb waiting to blow. If i decide aginst the blaster i will probably lean toward a 2000 warrior, the dealer wants $4000 for it, is that a reasonable pirce( everything is stock)?
thanks for the help

I've had two of them. A 94 and a 96. Both were pretty tough. I didn't have any problems with either one. If you think a Blaster is quick try a Raptor. My Raptor will easily kill a Blaster. Even with my wife on the back.

If you are going to get a new one then you have nothing to worry about. Ive been beating my blaster latley, figure what the heck, thats what they are made for and thats how Ill get good so put the hammer down, anyways havent broken one yet.. blew a shee up big time but the little blasters seem hard to kill, think its cuz its got a short stroke or something like that so its hard(er) to over-revv.. If you have the money for a warrior buy it, or buy a blaster and trick it out .. I love my blaster, its great fun, dont really have to worry about problems cuz there isnt anything to it, keep it maintained and it will last forever. Either one should make you very happy.

Blasters are a good quad as long as you don't care about reverse. The engine lasts a long time because it is detuned from its roots in a motorcycle engine. The Blaster will be a huge increase in performance from you Rancher. The Warrior is a more deluxe ride and is more powerful. 4 grand sounds like a good deal. I assume it is used. Decide if reverse and e-start is more important and balence that with the Warriors heavier weight and larger size. The Blaster is cool if that is what you want but remeber you are giving up some nice features (brakes, reverse).
