big bear trouble
#1
i just bought a 2002 Big Bear 400 4x4 and i put a need battery on it and it still wont start....i tried jumping the solenoid and sounded like it was attempting to start
i think its stuck in gear or something IDK. the neutral light works only when i mess with the shifter.
so I need some advice bad.
thanks

does it push easy when the green neutral light is on? it should roll with ease. if it moves and has a little resistance, make sure the brakes are not sticking. what sound does the starter make? i had to replace my starter when i bought my 99 yam big bear. it sounded like the flywheel was grinding off when it was started. have you tried to pull start the quad? i believe all big bears have a backup recoil pull start.
if you need a starter, dont get one from yamaha, they are over 150 bucks. i bought mine off the internet from a guy in northern TN. he beat yamaha by half the price. my new starter for my quad was 79 bucks + shipping. i changed it in 15 minutes. his website is below.
