I'll tell you what, you can take the Chinese quads and I'll take the Japanese quads. I'll have the ones that go faster, last longer, and are better built. But hey, you only spent 2 grand on a machine that will last you maybe a year. I spent 7 grand on something that I will have in 10 years that is still running.

hello folks
Im wondering if there is an update on this thread as Im in a pickle.
Ive bought a Linhai 300 4x4 atv and 6 months in Ive had trouble with the back break leaking oil and the front break lock thing breaking off in my hand.
can I trust that these are just initial usage problems of should I cut my losses and tread it in for a Japanese.
Im on a hillside property and it performs well dragging logs and trees around but I need something reliable as I live deep deep in the woods and cant be bothered bringing it to the garage every other week.
basically Im wondering if there is more experiential evidence to give me some confidence in this machine.
Thanks folks

As a UK dealership. we have found the Chinese stuff has not got traction in the market, except for a few years in kids quads, and even that seems to be fading. Used Chinese quads are worth very little, so if you have bought new, expect to loose almost the lot if you trade in for a Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki. As mentioned above, quality control isn't great, though designs are often fairly good. If you get one that has been made well, they can be reliable. I don't know how good Linhai's spares system is, most Chinese makers don't supply parts, you have to buy universal Chinese parts from specialists, cheap, but they don't know what their stuff fits, you have to work it out from pictures and descriptions.
