I've noticed a lot of after market handle bars. What is the benefit for this??? Looks? Weight? Performance? Please help me understand.
Thank you!!!

yes - looks are cool, usually weigh less and transfer less vibration to your hands and will usually survive a couple crashes before they are toast -- i prefer Renthal had a pair on my '88 zilla for 6 years before i sold it

Some aftermarket bars have gaurantees that they will never bend or break. Most are a little less vibration transfering, some are lighter, others are stronger..Main thing is that different bars = different bends, which means a different ride style. Its hard to explain HOW the different bends affect how you sit on the bike, the best thing to do is just find a set of bars that feel comfortable at normal bar to chest distance. I run a stock 250 bend on mine and they sit 1 inch lower than stock banshee bars.Wider bars will also make it easier to turn the front wheels (good if you (will) have oversized front tires)
