ok so i went for a ride yesterday in some local sand pits and my quad works fine the whole way out there (its like 15 20 min on rr tracks) then as soon as i go for a hill climb is bogs down so i role down and then just putt around for a lil bit then it dies so i try to start it up no go so i look behind me and black somke is pooring out of the exhaust does anyone have any ideas?

Your WAY rich for some reason. A stuck float more than likely.

 

what are u riding? im thinking that something happened with the valves possibly

 

i have a 01 warrior would the stuck float make it not start

Absolutely. It will flood the engine with fuel.

 

yea it will either not give it enough fuel or to much

 

ok thanks guys im kinda busy latley but i will let you know when i fix it.

 

older yamaha carbs are notorious for the damn floats sticking. the mukuni carb is junk.
