Just head down to your local motorcycle shop and buy the next size bigger jet. Thats all I do for all the bikes I do. Sometimes you have to go 2 sizes but you have to start somewhere. Then you may need to adjust the needle setting also. A jet at my local MC shop is about $3 and they have many to choose from. Most jet kits are just a waste of money IMO.

Here is a good step by step from Prowell's website about jetting. Acording to this it says that Yamaha offers no jets for your carb. but I'd say check with your local shop and see what they say.

Yeah read thier directions on jeting and there is a few others I have seen around the net about jetting but yeah basically get the next size bigger and give it a run. If its close then you can adjust the needle to get your 1/4 thru 3/4 throttle right. Then you can get your fine tuning done with the air/fuel screw. Chances are you won't need to change your pilot jet.
Hope this helps. The thing is every bike is so different and its all just trial and error. I was working on one last night and had the carb off about 10 times till I was totally happy with it.

Thanks again man. How do you adjust the needle? I have a repair manual that shows me how to take it apart and everything but it doesnt say anything about modding stuff.

Oh and do you have any recommendations on which way and how far to adjust the air/fuel screw and needle?
