Well, to me, the price sound very good. Did you look closely at the machine, ask him a lot of questions? Be sure to ask about how often he changed the oil, especially on that 450, which should be done VERY often. Too bad he'll probably lie.... I don't know much about that exhaust system or those mods, not a big 450 guy myself. Btw, that machine sounds very good for what you ride, especially if the trails are more open and longer, good luck man!

yes, i am going to look at it, he has said it is in great conditon and probably has under 50 hours on it, it also doesnt look like it has been beat or anything, he also has new back tires and comes with the stock tires too, the exhaust was $600, thank you for the advice and i will look closly at the bike, how often should you change the oil, what did you mean by especially on the 450's?

Again, I'm no pro about 450's, so take this advice with a pinch of salt I believe they need more frequent oil changes because of something to do with the cooling systems. I heard that the 09' YFZ450R's are going to be wanting an oil change every 2 hours, I doubt it will be this extreme for you, but they need more changes than other machines. Hopefully Reconranger can chime in and help you out here, he seems to be the master of all oil.

Have you had a chance to sit on it and check your ergonomics and see if you're comfortable with that? 245 lbs. is usually a little "heavy" for a 450 class machine. Perhaps a Raptor 660/700 would be a better option? Not that I'm turning you away from a 450, but just make sure you're comfortable with it.
If you ride pretty hard all day, I'd recommend changing the oil after every 2 rides in a 450.
