Warrior only stays running, when you hold the start button
hey guys let me just give you a quick breakdown on the bike i just bought.
1989 warrior with a pull start,
previous owner removed the starter clutch because he blew 2 of them in a short period of time (problem unknown)
clutch safety switch wires disconnected
he wired in a a different headlight and switch
it came with no battery
it had a answer roost boost
neutral switch wire is already spliced with new wire,
no key
NO Spark, what a surprise!
So thats what i got for $330, rest of bike is in pretty good shape.
Heres what i did so far one thing at a time after cleaning the carb, then tried starting it after:
connected the Red and Brown wires together on the ignition. (ignition was broken with just the bottom piece left)
i found broken wires on the roost boost, so i removed the roost boost and got spark immediately, was so happy.
that is when my problem started, it would up right away with the pull start, and then die a second later, over and over again.
then i cut out all the headlight wires he put in and repaired the stock connections. same result.
connected clutch safety wires and this stopped the spark
installed a battery from one of my other bikes, and lost spark all together, no dash lights came on, starter would only engage if i jumped the solenoid, which did nothing because of having no starter clutch. disconnect battery and got spark back.
read online real quick, found 2 links with same problem, they said there bike only stays running if they hold there start buttons in. so for ***** and giggles, i went out and tried it, what do you know, the bike stayed running until i let go of the start button, WTF?
any help would be appreciated!

solutions i have been thinking of, and definite problems:
neutral safety switch bad... (no neutral light)
bad solenoid for the starter
Bad clutch safety switch
bad ground or crossed wiring
i have to check all the wiring but it looks mostly untouched.
