I was feathering the clutch starting up a pretty big hill when my clutch became unresponsive and jammed. When I stopped there was smoke coming out from under the tank. When I got off It had died down enough that I couldn't see exactly where the smoke came out. The clutch was totally unresponsive and locked in gear. The bike had about 4 hours on it at the time.

After letting it sit for about 10 minutes, everything was back to normal. After finishing the day with no more problems, I went home that night and changed the oil just incase there was excess free metal from the break-in. I've put about 6 hours on it since and have had it fade a little one other time but no smoke and/or jamming.

2strokeDiehard, just wondering if they are replacing parts in the tranny? The reason I ask, I just got back from getting larger jets. I spoke to one of the mech's there and he said about half of the raptors they sold are having problems with the tranny. He said it's typically between 1st and 2nd gear, hitting nuetral. He told me they are replacing the gears and sometimes the fork. Mine goes in 2/14 and I'll let ya know what they are doing.

swytak, They are replacing 1st and 2nd gear because they both broke!! I havnt had any of the neutural problems that some of you have just the clutch fadded and dint shift smothly from 1st to 2nd and stuck in both gears, then upon putting power to it they broke!!! What was the Part number of the jets you got at your dealer?? i got some that were wrong and am waiting on more but they seem to have a prolem getting them !!!!!

swytak,

Pls make sure you post the findings and learn us up! I called around the local areas and none of the dealers knew (or would admit to) the tranny problem discussed.

I too experienced shifting into neutral while shifting between gears during hard riding. It doesn't happen very often and at first I thought it was operator error. Any info you can provide would be mostly appreciated!

The only transmission enomoly that I've run into was that I always have a hard time finding neutral...

Blue660R, Give the clutch time and it will be shot the stock clutch is garbage I guess it has rubber bushings that heat up and cause that clutch fade. Mine is slipping now and heated up and faded numerous times before I ordered a barnnett carbon fiber clutch I will post once it comes in and let everyone know if this helped with the clutch fade which I hope it does.
