Which is the safest way to remove ball joint and tie rod ends? Fork or separater? I used a puller but it would not stay straight and kept slipping off. Auto part store had some forks but they looked like they were too big. Harbor freight has a separater but not sure if that will work. I just want it too work fairly easy without tearing up boots which would defeat the whole purpose.
