will a 1996 warrior engine work in a 2002 warrior with the 02 tranny?

 

The engine and transmission are in the same case so you can't really seperate the two but if you are simply talking about the internals, the 96 and 02 should have the same internal transmission gears.

 

I have an 01 warrior engine/transmission in my 96 warrior.

 

ok. so a straight up swap would work with no problems i have a 02 with bad motor and looking to buy a 96 motor

 

Yes the only thing that will change is the stator. You will need to reuse the stator off of the 02 engine.

No problem. I just went through all this about two weeks ago. I just got the 01 rebuilt motor broke in last week. Next, weekend should be able to go full throttle!

 

its killing me not to ride. i just won the 96 engine on ebay so hope i can ride soon

 

Make sure they pack that engine to your liking. My engine was shipped in a crate inside of a box filled with foam. Whenever I got it, the crate was only a bunch of boards laying in a pile of smashed up foam in the bottom of a tore up, taped up box. I'm not sure if it was poor packaging or poor handling but I was just happy it was in one piece.
