warrior gears are too low
#1
i rebuilt an 88 warrior and man that thing is geared low,i changed the primary gear to a 10,the rear is 40 and its still pretty low.how small a sprocket can you get for the rear?also i need a set of GOOD rear tires if anybody has a good source.

bigger the front sprocket larger the gear ratio, smaller the rear sprocket larger the gear ratio, i use a 13 which is stock i believe, for warriors i like kenda klaws, maxxis razrs, and itp mudlites those are prolly my favorite tires for warriors

The Warrior has enough low end grunt to pull a one tooth bigger up front, I know a lot of guys who run a 14 up front for better gear spread, and a little more top end speed.

yeah my brother n law had a 95 warrior a couple years back and he put 14 in front and i can't remember what in back, but riden after that it actually seemed like a whole different machine, buti guess that was a while ago, but sprockets can make a big difference, let out some a that hidden power i mean

14t front 40t rear with 20in tiers is a perfect combo. made plenty of gear and less rotating mass i love it. but thats just me.

Not to thread jack but I was looking into getting some 20-11-9's for the back and 22 or 21-7-10's for the front and going to a 14 tooth front sprocket is that a good set up on a warrior. I climb a lot of hills and do a lot of trail riding. Thanks guys.
