Default Blaster rod gone?

I bought a non running blaster off craigs list. I figured it just needed a new top end ,which I have done before. But after I got it torn down I found that the cylinder has faint scractes all over the walls running around the cylinder not up and down like I have seen before. Also the Rod is a little loose you can wiggle it side to side a little and the wrist pin berring was not in the rod very tight either. Is this normal? Am I going to have to replace the botttom end?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Default Blaster rod gone?

the rod is supposed to have a little side to side play but its the up and down play that will show that its bad, grip it tightly in a upright position and try to move it up and down it shouldnt move, otherwise its prolly toast

If your doing a top end rebuild it is a good idea to spend the extra $11 or whatever it costs for a new top wrist pin bearing. Warrior covered the rest.
