Default 01 Warrior Intake Valve

Hey everyone im new to here and this is my first post. Anyways I have this problem with my 01 warrior to where i was riding it one day and I think I rapped it a little too high and it started bogging down and then died and wouldnt restart. Doesnt even try to fire or anything and every once in awhile would get a backfire. So I was going to take it into the shop but I wanted to learn and save money on the repair so decided to do it myself I just need a little help. I checked the timing timing marks were lined up and good. I took the valve covers off to check clearance and on the intake valve. It looks like its stuck open. Like the rocker arm is hitting the spring retainer and I think its called the cotter isnt sticking above the spring retainer. There is nothing sticking out of the spring retainer. So my question is to correct this what exactly do I do? Or what are the steps to remove the valve from the head. I still have the engine mounted in the frame. I would rather not take it out but if I have too I can. Any help would be great I also found a service manual online too so thats helping a bit. Also my compression checker didnt have the right fitting but I read once though if you could hold your finger over the spark plug hole and not get it blown off your compression is too low. I held my finger over it and felt air moving but it sure wasnt much it wasnt hard to keep my finger there or anything.

Thanks

If I look like the valve is stuck open it more than likely is.
At a minimum your going to have to pull the head off. When you have the head off you need to have a good long look at the piston. If it got wacked really hard, it's going to have to be replaced also.
Give the guide a good looking at also. Sometimes they can crack.

Yeah, sounds like you bent the valve. The valves are only $12 and are easy to replace, but you have to pull the head and buy new head gaskets. Just hope you didn't mess up the piston, that's another $300. Try not to rev it that high next time!

Hey thanks for the replies guys. Ya I got the valve out one of the keepers was missing and in the head. The valve looks fine i may end up just replacing it to be safe. Ha ya revving it that high was an accident I had it wide open and hit a little bump which made the wheels come off the ground and ya. But thanks for the replies piston looks fine it didnt sound like it slapped it and didnt look like it did.

Thanks again
