Review - 2008 Yamaha Wolverine 450
#11
My friend bought a 420 Rancher 2 weeks before I got my Wolvy. We've ridden through snow and mud and the wolvy is much better in terms of traction. Also the Wolvy handles turns better and is Faster. The Rancher has the edge in keeping him from getting muddy clothes because of the bigger fenders and the suspension is much more plush. The Rancher rides like a cadillac and the wolvy rides like a Chevy Chevette

if the wolverine had a locking differential i would buy one but I think it is dumb to buy a 4x4 that is actually a 3x4 so im going to get a polaris scrambler 500 ho 4x4 its a true 4x4 not limited slip like the wolverine plus the scrambler is faster and will go through snow, mud, and over more obsticles

It all depends on what type of riding you are going to be doing. I love my wolverine it is perfect for trails all year round especially here in northern Michigan, snow, rain, mud, sand, everything. The wolverine is not the best quad in any one of these but it does them all very well. It is very hard to find a quad that will do that. The only options in this class are the Renegades (if you can afford them), scramblers, and wolverine. I do know that my buddy has a sportsman 500 and my wolverine is better in the snow and on the trails due mainly to its weight.
