Default Raptor 350, HELP PLEASE!!!

Ok so i bought an 08 raptor 350.. ran fine all last summer and it would start in the winter (kept in my garadge...) Now i go to start it and it will not turn over.. i can hear the starter giving its best effort but still no dice.. so i pull the choke to about 1/4 - 1/2 and it will start some times.. i have a K&N filter and a DJ kit.. first i installed a 132 main on groove 3 last summer and it ran fine but not really any power gain.. then about a month ago it started bogging out and hick-up-ing.. and would only start with the choke open.. and now it just wont start.. so i went down to a 128 main on groove 3 and still having the same problem.. any ideas? i will make a video of what i am talking about and post it up here..

Last Summer:
132 Main
Groove 3
3.5 Turns Out

This Spring:
128 Main
Groove 3
2.5 - 4.5 Turns Out (i tried a wide range..)

the video will be in my next post.. Thank you for your help..

Without a pipe you won't see that much improvement with a jet kit. You said it won't turn over. Do you mean like battery dead won't turn over or just won't fire? Sounds like you mean you are having trouble starting it. A good carb cleaning to clean up the stuff that settled over the winter may help.

To go along with what Koopa said we all need to remember that gas we have in the tank last fall will be stale by Spring. I put Sta-Bil in my tank last fall and still go out and let it warm up once a week. Some say to fill the tank full at the end of the season, but I am not so sure about that. It seems to me with past experience that it may be a better idea to remove the carb and let it soak in something that will not allow it to gum up. I know I would have been better off to do that with my old Kawasaki KZ1000. I had to re-do the carbs every spring without fail. My 700 Griz is fuel injected so I don't know what to expect. So far it is still like new with only 28 hours on it, but the weather isn't condusive to going riding yet so I will know after my first trip out. I bet that if you clean the carb out good and put in a new plug and fresh gas you will be back to where you were before winter.

Glad to here it. Have fun with it. Don't forget maintenance is key. If it's been sitting all winter you should probably change the oil, clean the filter, lube the chain, and look everything over. A well maintained quad will last and will be ready to go when you are.
