Engine stops when tapping\pressing the throttle (Idle)
#1
Hi,
Yesterday when I started my Raptor 700R, I left it for 2 mins to heat up, then when I just tapped the throttle, the engine stopped.
this has happened to me like 7 times now.
so I went to yamaha today to change the oil and spark plug.
and I asked them about this problem, and they told me it could be that the air filter is very dirty or the spark plug is almost done.
they cleaned the air filter and changed the spark plug.
it worked well after they changed, but after a while when I was coming home, I was stopping at a traffic light, I pressed clutch to change down the gear, the engine stopped while moving.
anyone had same problem?
or do you know what could be the problem?
it's a complete stock raptor 700R SE 2009, just removed the spark arrestor.

wiggle some wires while its running to try and re create it shutting off, if possible if you get to shaking a certain cluster of wires and the engine dies you can narrow it down and hopefully find the culpret, otherwise you might wanna try and re install the spark arrestor just to see if it wont cut off after installing it back in, does it idle real low?
