Looking for some answers. Let a friend borrow the quad. Well he's no friend now. The motor is locked up. Tried marvel mystery oil to free it but no luck. He claims that he flipped the compression release valve and heard something let loose inside. Now it won't turn over electric/pull start. Can anyone help? Any suggestions?

time to tear it down, could be a few different things...piston could have seized up and caused it to lock up or, the thrust washers between the rod and crank could have finally took a poopy, did he say exactly what it did when it locked up? like did it make a bang noise or did it just slowly shut down?

yea i forgot he mentioned the decompress release, that must be an older pullstart 87-89ish model, i guess it would be a good idea to check out that make sure it isnt something simple, its worth a try, heres a little pic to help u out with what parts there are on it...29 is the little lever and u can see what all else there is...kinda small pic lol.
