Default Got a warrior issue

Ok so i got a parking brake block off plate installed it and took out the cable. I got a new clutch lever and perch. Also changed the front sprocket to a 12t.

That is all i have done, before it was fine.

Now the issue. Starts in neutral only. Will not start when it is in gear. Then when it is started i go to put it in reverse and it shuts off.

I do know there was a plug on the old clutch lever. I was assuming this was the parking brake sensor everyone always talks about cutting off. Well i left it together for the most part, i broke it when i was getting it off and all the little peices inside fell out and i have since swept the garage. But i left the plug deal there and stuck it down the steering stem.

So was that some other kind of sensor i need or is there something i am missing?

Should be a TORS switch. The switches are normally closed I think. If you just tucked the connector without connecting the wires together, your bike thinks the TORS switch has the park brake on all the time..... having a hard time accellerating? or have you not tried that stuff yet?

I could be absoloutely backward on this but that's what I remember..... I have a Blaster with the TORS.... It is jumped and inop, I'll have to check tommorrow if you still need help.

Ok i got it figured out. I just unplugged the wires under the grill and plugged them back into eachother. I guess showing it a closed circuit.

if you're doing fine on accelleration, then don't splice 'em together. I have my brain twisted (or my wiring is different). I had a 2006 and a 89 blaster. I just couldn't remember the details.

Just FYI, there is no TORS on the Warrior, that was only on the Blaster and Banshee, totally different carb.

well i like reverse so i had to plug the 2 wires together (didnt really splice, there is a male and female connection under the grill part). without doing that it shut down when i put it in reverse.

all is good now.

Excellent info you and 95wolv. I'll keep all that in my brain somewhere.

So many have had so much issue with the TORS, I kinda thought it was typical on all the Yamaha's
