Default 2009 yfz 450

Well ive got an 04 kodiak 450 tht was bought for me a gift and i still wanna keep it but ive finally saved the money to buy a 2009 yfz 450 so i can start ridin at the track with my buddies but i still cant decide wether i want the 450 or 450r. I know theres not much diffrence in the length, width, height, and weight of the two but i still cant decide. What kind of advice can ya'll maybe lend me to make my finally decision?

Well, if you have the extra cash the yfzr has better suspension and fuel injection. Personally haven't had experience with it but, I"d think those options there are worth the extra cash. How much extra are we talking? Anybody know?

Only downside to me is that they are wider. Not a fan of the 50" quads because, they'd have trouble in the few trails I go through.

The way I look at it is this. The yfzr is a motocross quad. It's setup from top to bottom with leading edge tech for the track. For the rest of us not using our quad specifically for the track we have the yfz. It would be nice to have Fuel injection but, it works and it works well. Use the money saved for some mods.

You won't be disappointed either way you go.

If you are purchasing it for the track and have the $$, just get the R. I am not totally sold on the advantages of the relatively simple efi that is on quads these days, but the suspension and width upgrades are going to be worth the extra cash. If you plan on mostly trail bashing, then either will work, and the original is proven.
