griz=top speed 52mph?

did you guys see in one of the magazines this month where it has top speeds, it says the grizzly's top speed is 52, and for all of us griz owners, dont bother calling them and claiming the griz goes over 60, they said the top speed ever on a griz is maybe 54, , i know the magazines are off sometimes but man, i know mine will go over 52 mph, they have it at the same top speed as the bombardier traxter, i am not just saying this because i am defending my ride, i am trading it in soon anyway, maybe i will get the 650 prairie and go 53 mph

They knock of 5mph for every Quad so do not feel bad.I'm wondering if there right,Can you imagine driving down the freeway in your car doing 60 mph and look out the side window and see a large 4x4 quad cruising beside you at the same speed.
It may be like boats,you feel like you flying but your only doing 40 mph really,

i put a k&n power kit on right away, i never really drove it without it, except to break it in, maybe that made some difference, now with a magazine saying that the prairie 650 will go 65, i wonder if that is radar or speedometer, if it actually goes 13 mph faster than a grizz then that is pretty quick

Hey 660R01~
I couldn't agree with you more. I always thought my Scrambler would top out about 65mph. I was surprised when I did a radar run on a 1000 foot drag strip and only got 55.3 mph! Thinking something had to have been wrong, I did 2 more runs. Another 55.3 and a 55.4. Everybody overrates their machines somewhat. A guy on a 440ex swore his machine would run close to 80 mph! He only managed 62.5 mph! Hey, reality sucks sometimes! Now if people would just accept what the Magazines reported, there wouldn't be any problems!

The need for speed has been a factor in most of my vehicle purchases (Ram Air IV GTO, 5 Liter Mustang , SHO).
Naturally, when I replaced my pokey 300 FourTrax with a Kodiak Y2K I wanted to see what it would do for top end. I bought the machine in Canada so the speedometer reads in KPH. Converting this number to MPH gave an indicated speed of about 50.
What I learned from this experience was it's not pleasant going 50 odd MPH down a hard scrable road, with the rear end twitching around. 65 MPH on a utility quad, NO thank you.
