If you want a excellent mud tire, get ITP 589's. I got them in 27" and they are bad *** in the mud! You'd be surprised how little you need to use the 4wd when running 589's. They are also 6 ply and a very solid tire. A thousand times better then the cheap stock tires my atv came with.

589's are a very aggressive tire, much bigger lugs and spaced out apart to that they self clean very fast. They may not be as comfortable riding, but are excellent mud and rock climbing tires. If you check out my video i posted under Anthracite ridng photos, you'll see me getting through a mud hole where another person had trouble and couldn't get out. They are a mud and snow tire, but I have yet to try them out in deep snow, as the most snow we had was 6-8" over the last few years. I also gained a couple inches of clearence running a 27" tire. I stuck with same size dimensions as stock, but moved up to a 27". Only problem was, the rear tires are extremely wide, not that that is a bad thing, but when going through mud holes the tires discharge mud all over me real bad! You also may noticed a slight degrease in TQ running bigger tires too.

Default Grizzly 600 question

Good day,

Just come across a 2001 grizzly 600 and bought it as project . The tires on bike right now are
back- 25*9.5*12
front-25*8*12

I want to put 28s on the bike because I don’t want to go to big. But I’ve found it hard to find that tire size for my stock rims. Would I be better off buying different rims for the bike so I have more of a selection in tire size and if so what rim would I go with.

Also so last question. I bought an HMF exhaust and it says need to jet the bike(that isn’t expensive ) but is it needed

thanks for your time and feedback

I've got 26" ITP's but wondering after reading this post. How is the stability the higher you go up in tire size affected? I tend to think the higher you go the tippier it gets and how much is considered safe.

am also curious on the HMF pipe jetting. I’ve ran other machines without jetting with HMF mufflers and didn’t have issues. I’m assuming it’s reccomeneded but will still run if you don’t as I’ve experinced before? I’ve read on purchasing that tho it won’t be under waranty if you don’t have it jetted
