2007 Grizzly purchase....

Yamaha's CVT always has tension on it. Polaris' CVT's don't. This reduces slippage, so there transmissions are much better IMO. My 450 went for $5800 new. I'd say either hammer em down. Or, consider shopping around a little for a 450. Not sure what other dealers are in your area, but you can probably work out a pretty good deal.

As for the 2007 model...Im starting to question if buying a "new" quad thats already basically 3 years old is a good idea. We stopped at the dealer last night to try to work out buying two machines(me and neighbor, again) but he seems pretty stuck at $4800 for the 2007 Grizzly. I might look at a 450 Grizzly. And, the Suzuki KQ 450 is also a nice machine with lots of good features for the price: Injection, IRS, sealed rear brake, full size chassis for my fat ***, etc, etc.
We'll see.

Both the 450 and 400 are excellent machines.
I think the dealer is asking a little too much for an almost 3 year old model. Since they are basing their price on '07 MSRP of $5800 then I would at minimum use the 15-10-5 rule of depreciation.
That means it's worth 15% less the first year, then an additional 10% less the second year and is now approaching an additional 5% for the third year.
$5800 less 15%= $4930
$4930 less 10%= $4437
$4437 less 5%= $4215
I would give them no more than $4300 for it and they should know this especially since they would of let these go in '07 for less than MSRP.

I can always say $4300 and see what they say....right?

Nope, not even close. He even said that retail value was about $3500 bucks according to the ATV blue-book. Oh well. Guess thats not happening unless he comes way down.
