No Power!
#1
I just bought a 1998 Wolverine 4x4 last week and I have never owned a quad but have rode many different ones. I basically bought her for hunting and ice fishing but I do enjoy trail riding from time to time.
Anyway I do not know how the previous guy took care of it but it seems to lack serious power. She will run 30mph on flat ground all in with nothing left. I am not sure where to start with this. I really in more interested in being able to handle severe terrain more than I want speed. It does okay but many other quads with 300 to 400cc have been more resonsivse and more agressive off road. She has 26"x12x12 tires on the rear and 26x9x12 on the front which I know are big for a 350 but it should run faster than that. I would aapreciate any help.

You need to clean spark arrestor, check air filter(and replace if necessary), and clean/rejet carburetor. It sounds to me like it is starving for fuel.
If none of those are the problem, it could be in the engine. A few of the older models are bad to wear the exhaust lobes off the cam. The ones that do this are generally "work/hunting" quads that were ran at lowspeed and fairly high load for extended periods of time.
I can almost guarantee that your problems are not major. It can just be a really agitation to figure it all out!
