08 Rhino fuel filter

08 Rhino fuel filter
I have an 08 rhino that has a clogged fuel filter. I think someone messed with it and put dirt in my tank. I got over a cup of mud/dirt out of the tank. And the fuel filter is totally clogged. Now for the bad news yamaha does not sell just the filter you must buy the whole fuel pump assembly $279.00 which I did. But I am attempting to repair the old. All I need is the filter which just snaps onto the assembly. Does anyone know if this filter can be had elsewhere. I would think that the filter is also used in the automotive industry. I am going to take it to a Napa store and see if they can match it up. If anyone has info on this please let me know. If I find a replacement I will post.
Thanks

Several times we have had clogged filter problems with older Rhinos, just an inline filter,
I'm starting to think that it may be a problem with the gas tank vent drawing in dust and dirt.Never looked into it further yet but it's a lot of crud in the filter every time.
Everyone carrys several spares now.

fuel problem 2007 rhino
Hello.
I own a 2007, 660 Rhino.
I just inherited the same problem while on a Moose hunting trip.
Removed the lower end of carb and took out about a tablespoons worth of crap. The filter was plugged aswell and after replacing the filter with a 40 micron cleanable fuel filter I was back ion the road.Although it seems that this has to be done every 50-70 miles.
At the moment trying to find a filter that would fit in the neck of the fuel tank. Not sure but I bellieve that the placement of the fuel refill position is ideal for mud to drop into the tank.
