Kodiak Ultramatic, Shift problems
01' kodiak ultramatic 4wd. The thing runs like a champ, but it has a hard time when you try to change from High to Low or to Park or to Reverse or to Nuetral. Sometimes it will change no problem and other times the lever will not move. I always press the brake in to do it also. I am told there is some type of sensor by the master cylinder that could be the problem>???? Any thoughts on why it wont let me change out of gears some times.

Adjust your linkage.
1. Remove plastics as needed to see what you are doing.
2. Disconnect Linkage at transmission.
3.With Key ON and Switch OFF, move transmission shifter rod up or down until Neutral light shows on the pod. Gently roll quad forward to verify Neutral. Turn Key Off.
4.Move Shifter **** to Neutral.
5. Reconnect linkage and take up the slack using adjustment nuts.
6. Clean and lube linkage to insure smooth operation. Use a stiff wire brush, or similar to remove caked on rust and dirt.
7. Start quad and verify proper shifter operation. Fine tune as needed.
8. Replace plastics.
