Electrical problems-03 Wolverine 4x4
I've browsed topics, none seem to fit my problem.
Recently came into possession of this machine. No electrical functions at all.
No lights on the steering column with key on. I first replaced the battery, as the old one would not take a charge.
I can jump across the solenoid and the starter cranks the engine, but engine does not start. I pulled the plug and grounded it while cranking. No spark. No voltage to the coil with key on. I am new to the cdi, so am not sure if these tests are valid for coming to any conclusions.
Would my first step be to replace the solenoid? Does the cdi take power from the solenoid? Neither of the two small wires on the solenoid show any voltage. Are they just connected to the start switch to activate the solenoid?
You can see that I need some help. Any suggestions will be most welcome.
Thanks,
ncgator
