Default What do you think of this warrior?

I found this warrior for sale heres what the guy said in the ad:
1989 Yamaha Warrior first yr. of the warriors, has elec. start and pull cord. No tears in seat or plastic, runs great. Needs a new battery and chain. Will include some extra parts, ie. reppair manual and top end kit. $750
Heres a picture of it:

Do you think the warrior looks like it is in good and shape and do you think it is worth the $750??
Thank

Hard to say from pics. My '88 looks way better, but its the exception, not the rule for 20+ year old quads. I would question what he's talking about b/c the warrior came out in '87....not '89. That's just me though.... Still, it can't hurt to look it over in person, which is going to tell you 1000 times more than anything else.

Default sounds good

$750 is cheep but obviously ride it first. if he denies you the opportunity to ride it there's a good chance that it has other problems.

well if it needs a new battery and chain, i'd assume since he isn't attempting to replace a chain, which doesn't cost THAT much that there may be other problems with it if there's no chain at all on the bike and the battery has been dead for some time i assume.....which also makes me wonder how the generator is on it if its been working that much without a battery to buffer it.

Usually the old Warriors are money pits. All the bushings, bearings, and ball joints are usually worn out, and by the time you replace all that stuff, you have spent double what you paid for it.
