How tight to tighten the cap on crankcase?

How tight to tighten the cap on crankcase?
This is on a 99 blaster where the tranny oil goes. the cap on now is broke, the new one is on the way. Right now it leaks bad, with th new one should it go tight as I can get it? Just dont want to crack it!
