Just thought I would post what I had seen today, while at the Yami dealer. I went to pick up a couple of items today and decided to go talk with service. While talking with the head mechanic, he said hey, I want to show you something. To my surprise, there was a Raptor sitting there with approx 15 hours, that had the left side a-arms cracked off near the end. He said the guy was doing a wheelie and when the front end came down, the a-arm broke. The mechanic said that he checked the a-arm and there were NO signs of hitting anything, not even a paint scratch. He said Yamaha Corp would NOT cover this under warranty! How is that? I asked. He said the dealer was willing to order the parts but, Yamaha would not cover this.

I am now wondering, has anyone broken the a-arms on the Raptor? I've hit some pretty big jumps and nasty woops but, never had any problems. Is this an isolated problem? Sure hope so!!!!!

swytak, lets hope I think it is isolated because I myself and some other people I ride with run the raptors hard and jump, wheelie etc... nothing like this so far and lets hope nothing ever. My starter is getting repaired and yam covered it. I wouldnt be suprised if yam is covering it and some shops still charge for it he should call yam cust service and express his problem they should help him out.

Swytak, which dealer were you at. Was it Bucks, Extreme, Loomis, or Cycle Sport. Also a bunch of us are planning to go to the bad Lands, around the end of March if the weather is good. I'll let you know what weekend if your interested.

Yamaha has covered other peoples A-arms. I think that person should make some noise, and they should get their A-arms replaced.

No one said that it was supposed to be perfect, and buying a first model year machine, you expect some issues. As long as the company stands behind it, I don't mind being the first to have one....

I was the first person on this message board to report bending the upper A-arm. I did it coming down hard from a wheelie as well. The A-arm just buckled.

Yamaha or my dealer one replaced it. I've been a lot rougher on my Raptor since then, including a pretty terrible end over end role and had no problems out of this one.

Jeez - you guys ride hard...

I have about 5 front-end only landings from about 6' and one very nasty plastic-creasing endo and no problems thus far. I will let you know how it goes after my first hare scrambles this weekend. I want to dedicate this race to big Visa limits and no talent!
