Default Barker Dual Exhaust

Anyone have these on thier Raptor 700? I picked up a set on Ebay. I think it is missing some hardware. Is there a spacer where the clamp bolts up to the frame for the cannisters/muffler on the end?

Also going to get a Power Commander III soon for it. Any advice where I can download map settings for this setup?

I can't wait to put these on.. I pray this and a PCIII will wake up the laggy bottom end.

Do you have the band straps for the cans or the billet ones? If you have the band type hangers then yes, you are missing a spacer, there should be one for both cans. I have an extra set of the band type hangers because I switched to the billet ones. You can order the billet hangers from techquadshop.com or if you need them I will send you my strap ones with the hardware and spacers.

Wait until you get the PCIII before putting the exhaust on, you will be too lean withoth the programmer and could cause some damage. For maps I would go to moddedraptor.com, raptorsource.com, or raptorforum.com. I would send you a map I had for mine but my map included and aftermarket intake as well.

The exhaust and the power commander will wake that thing up, add an intake and it will help even more.

I have the billet clamps so I am assuming there is no spacer involved. What intake do you recommend? Saving my pennies so I can get a PCIII. I can't wait to get this going.

Nevermind.. I saw your signature.. any reason why you went with a trinity intake? Also did a larger bore throttle body help? I am considering a piston down the road as well.

Yes, the billet clamps do not use a spacer. The best intake is the FCI. I bought my exhaust, PCIII, and intake as a kit and the trinity is what came with it. The gains on the throttle body are not very big, you'll notice a much larger gain from a cam and/or piston.

Just a question.... is the newer Power Commander V functional for 08 and lower models or is it only for 09 and up??

I stopped at the dealer for another item (needed grips for my 450R) and they told me they can modify or program the stock Fuel Controller to adapt to the exhaust I am going to put on. Its realatively cheap too.

Just looking at options.. not looking to be a cheap skate. Any input please...thanks

Bigdaddy yeah there sure is lots of stuff on there. I may get a set of lower a-arms as mine are all scuffed and I'd like to power coat a pair make the bike look NICE.

The dealer has no way of reprogramming the stock computer for your exhaust and the system can not compensate for itself because it does not have an O2 sensor.
You can get the PCIII or PCV for 06 and up. If you are going to be doing any major mods to your raptor you would be fine with just a PCIII. The differences between the two is the PCIII gives you the ability to adjust the fuel by some buttons located on the front but the primary map would be loaded from your computer. For most builds you will be able to find a map that will get you close then you can have someone tune if for you. The avantage of the PCV over the PCIII is the auto tune feature. The PCV will build your map for you but you will need to have an O2 sensor bung welded into your exhaust and you will need to purchase the auto tune kit seperatly from the PCV.

Thanks a ton for taking the time to explain all this jargon to me.

One last thing, does the PCV control timming? It would be nice to advance the timming a bit to give it more of that low end grunt. One thing about my 700, is my old 660 when I first got it seem to have more of an abrupt hit on the bottom. Anyway if not.. i think I will go with a PCIII. I found a good deal on it thru a website and I'm ready to rock and roll with this exhaust.

I also noticed you put a piston on your Raptor. I am considering that down the road as well, however I saw a video on youtube and the whole camshaft remove process looked rather tricky. To boot the guy had a home made tool to remove it. This is something I am considering wayyyy down the line.

Once I have enough scratch in my pocket, I will get a Power Commander, and then air filter, and then piston, etc....

Tomorrow I am going riding.. however I won't be taking the Raptor.

The power commanders only do the fuel, to get into the timing you will have to add a dynatek ignition controller. You can get those in a programmable and non programmable version. The only real difference between the PCIII and PCV is the the auto tune feature you can add to the PCV.

You do not have to remove the cam to swap pistons but if you do the homemade tool he was using is a kit you can buy from DL700, you can find him on raptorforum or moddedraptor. If you go with a Webb cam, the HD5050, RJ, or one of the megacycle cams you will need to have the rocker arms clearanced for them and go with HD valve springs, any of the Hotcams cams will just pop right in.
