I have an 02 Yam Big Bear 400 4x4. The battery shows output of 14 volts with my voltmeter. When I hit the start button I just get the "click". Tapping on the starter with a sawed off broom handle (to reach it) while hitting the start button makes the starter turn over. Stop tapping and the starter stops turning. Bad starter? Can I clean it? Rebuild it? New Starter? Any direction on rebuilding? Thanks for any info!

 

this starter is rebuildable with yamaha parts. they can be a butt though. if you have patience you can save some money. Fiche Parts
